Latin America's Largest Brewer

About

Companhia de Bebidas das Americas (Ambev) is the largest brewer in Latin America and a subsidiary of AB InBev, the world's largest brewing company. Founded in 1999 through the merger of Brahma and Antarctica, Ambev produces some of Brazil's most iconic beer brands including Skol, Brahma, Antarctica, Bohemia, and Original. Beyond beer, Ambev distributes soft drinks such as Guarana Antarctica and holds partnerships with PepsiCo for the distribution of Pepsi, Gatorade, and Lipton in Brazil. The company employs over 30,000 people across operations in Brazil, Central America, the Caribbean, and Canada.

About This Brand

Ambev was created in 1999 from the merger of two historic Brazilian breweries: Companhia Cervejaria Brahma, founded in 1888, and Companhia Antarctica Paulista, founded in 1885. This union created the largest beverage company in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the top five brewers in the world at the time. In 2004, Ambev merged with the Belgian brewer Interbrew to form InBev, which later acquired Anheuser-Busch in 2008 to become AB InBev. Despite these global consolidations, Ambev remains a publicly traded company listed on both B3 (the Brazilian stock exchange) and the NYSE. The company operates over 30 breweries and distribution centers across Brazil. Its portfolio spans more than 30 beer brands, including premium labels like Bohemia and Colorado, as well as mass-market leaders like Skol and Brahma. Ambev also operates in the non-alcoholic segment with Guarana Antarctica, one of the best-selling soft drinks in Brazil, and distributes PepsiCo products nationally. The company is headquartered in Sao Paulo and has been recognized for its management training programs and corporate efficiency.
