BAC Credomatic is the largest private financial group in Central America, part of Colombia's Grupo Aval. With more than 19,000 employees and over 4.2 million clients across Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Panama, the group provides retail banking, corporate banking, credit cards, insurance, wealth management, and trade finance services. Founded in 1952 as Banco de America Central in Managua, the institution expanded through the Credomatic credit card brand in the 1970s and became the first financial group with presence throughout Central America by the 1990s. The company operates from its corporate headquarters in Escazu, Costa Rica, and has established itself as a regional leader in digital banking innovation, contactless payments, and financial inclusion programs.
