About
Codelco is the world's largest copper mining company and a Chilean state-owned enterprise headquartered in Santiago. Founded in 1976 following the nationalization of foreign copper mines, the company operates seven major mining divisions across Chile, including the iconic Chuquicamata open-pit mine, El Teniente (the world's largest underground copper mine), and the highly automated Radomiro Tomic operation. Codelco produced 1.332 million tonnes of copper in 2025, generating an EBITDA of US$6.67 billion. The company's principal products include LME Grade A copper cathodes, copper concentrates, molybdenum, rhenium, and sulfuric acid.
