Vitalcan S.A. is an Argentine pet food manufacturer founded in 2001 in Tandil, Buenos Aires province. The company was the first in Latin America to formalize a research agreement with a national university, creating the Vitalcan-UNICEN Center for Research and Development at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the Universidad Nacional del Centro. From its integrated plant in the Parque Industrial de Tandil, Vitalcan produces super-premium, premium, therapeutic, and natural dry foods, wet food, and treats for dogs and cats. Products are sold through veterinary clinics and pet shops, and exported to Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Peru, and Ecuador. In 2023 Vitalcan partnered with Procens, a CONICET spin-off, to become the first Argentine pet food brand to incorporate insect-derived protein in its formulas.
