About
Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, operating commercially as Licores de Guatemala, is the largest distilling company in Guatemala and one of the most recognized spirits producers in Latin America. Founded in 1940 by the Botran brothers from Burgos, Spain, the company produces a portfolio spanning ultra-premium aged rums, traditional aguardientes, and specialty spirits. Its flagship Ron Zacapa Centenario, aged using the Sistema Solera process at 2,300 meters above sea level in Quetzaltenango, has won multiple international awards and is distributed globally through a partnership with Diageo. The company also produces Ron Botran in several age expressions, Quezalteca aguardiente (Guatemala's most popular spirit), and Venado aguardiente. Production is centered at the DARSA distillery complex in Mixco, with an annual capacity of 75 million liters. The company holds carbon neutral certification from SGS under ISO 14064 and has been recognized as a Great Place to Work.
