About
Alba is one of Argentina's most recognized paint brands and the trade name of AKZO NOBEL ARGENTINA S.A., the local arm of the Dutch coatings group AkzoNobel. Founded in 1925 in the Pompeya neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Alba is recognized as the first paint factory in South America. Production moved to an integrated plant in Garin, Buenos Aires province, in the 1960s, where around 420 employees now manufacture architectural paints, industrial coatings, wood finishes, and resins. The brand passed from Bunge y Born to ICI in 1996 and to AkzoNobel in 2008, and today covers latex, enamels, waterproofing, roof systems, and professional lines distributed across Argentina and the region.
